He Must Become Greater, I Must Become Less
The importance of relying on God's strength rather than our own, to succeed in carrying out His will. John the Baptist prepared the way for the coming of Jesus. John declared "He Must Become Greater, I Must Become Less" (John 3:27-30)
My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Show Me Your Glory
God gives an invitation to each one of us to experience Him in a deeper way. Moses prayed "God show me Your Glory" and God answered his prayer. Likewise, God wants us to pray the same prayer of faith and experience His Glory, just as Moses, David, and many other heros of the Old Testament did. (Exodus 33:7-19)

Jesus has Risen. He is risen indeed!
Today we celebrate the rising of Jesus, lifted by the Spirit into resurrection life. Jesus has conquered over all the things that were too powerful for us. He has done all this because of His great love towards us, and defeated Sin and Death.

Jesus, The Measure of All Things (Colossians 1:9-20)
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.
He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and firstborn from among the dead, so that in all things He may have preeminence. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross.

Alive in Christ (Colossians 2:13-15)
When you were dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our trespasses, having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

The Forgiveness of God (Luke 23:33-34)
When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Jesus is displaying the Father heart of God while He endures the Cross for the benefit of all who would believe.
Humiliated and tortured by wicked men, Jesus asks the Father to forgive them despite the great evil they have done. This was to fulfill Isaiah 53:12 "Therefore I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoils with the strong, because He has poured out His life unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors. Yet He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors".
Forgiveness is part of God's nature if we choose to receive it. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all come to repentance. Forgiveness is incomplete until it has been accepted. God's willingness to forgive is expressed in the parable of the Prodigal Son who finally comes to his senses. He takes the long journey back to his father who runs out to meet him while he is still a long way off, and rejoices in the fact that he has returned home. (Luke 15:11)
Walking in the Light (1 John 1:6-8)
If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Today You will be with Me in Paradise (Luke 23:33-46)
Crucified between two thieves, one mocking and abusing Jesus, the other honouring Him, and believing that Jesus would rise again! He said "Jesus, remember me when You come into your Kingdom".
Jesus responded to this expression of faith by saying "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise" The word paradise comes from the Persian word paridaiza which means 'a walled garden'.
Jesus invites us to that protective place of solitude within, as we spend time watering it for continued spiritual growth, with Jesus helping us to remove the weeds which spoil it. Paradise is where Jesus is. May the Lord draw us into a place of deeper intimacy as we hunger and thirst for more..

The Self Emptying Christ (Philippians 2:5-11)
Jesus laid aside His divine majesty, humbling himself, and became obedient to death - even death on a Cross. Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Jesus says "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-29)
