God strongly rebukes Israel over their lack of care for the poor. They were very religious, but they were rebellious and disobedient to God's commands. God tells them to repent and change their ways by seeking justice, defending the oppressed, and taking up the cause of the fatherless.

In the NT Jesus says "Truly, truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it to me." (Matt 25:40)

During Jesus' baptism in the Jordan River he received the annointing of the Holy Spirit,  coming down from Heaven to empower Him for His miraculous ministry of salvation.  Following the resurrection the Holy Spirit's role is to reveal Jesus to the unsaved and draw them to Him.

Mike shared how a chance meeting with a young shop assistant and the work of the Holy Spirit resulted in her radical conversion.
